Eagle is currently seeking one (1) Financial Analyst. This contract position is projected to be three (3) months in length and begin September xxxx.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for: Providing assistance in budgeting and financial analysis, financial reporting, project accounting and project evaluation, business case development, and other relevant financial issues.Participating in process re-engineering and designing and implementing internal controls;Reviewing and assisting in the documentation of financial procedures and processes;Liaising with other departments to ensure integrity of subsidiary system interface; connect with various client groups to exchange information, provide strategic /business advice,Coordinating and delivering financial training and provide professional/technical assistance to ensure accurate financial reporting;Working with other team members in Finance to ensure financial integrity of the General Ledger reporting structures and the Budget/Forecast computer software;Maintaining and supporting financial models and evaluation of projects.Other responsibilities including: Participate in planning and coordinating the annual operating and capital plan and process;Participate in monthly/quarterly variance analysis and compliance reporting;Participate in all applicable analysis to achieve accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reports;Ensure all monthly account reconciliations are completed;Participate in the implementation of software modeling to effectively conduct cost benefits studies and ?what if? scenarios as required; andParticipate in other special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned periodically. Skills and QualificationsThe qualified candidate must have: University degree in a related field, and professional designation of CA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of related working experience is required.Project management experience is necessary.Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial reporting requirements and internal control, experience with information technology control processes and procedures in a multi-divisional organization.Experience working in a hospital or health care setting is an asset; knowledge of the Health Care sector and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care reporting requirements is preferred.Self-starter who has the ability to work both independently and/or as a team member with minimal supervision.Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem solving skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong systems skills including working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Proficiency in Cognos would be advantageous.The successful candidate must have the ability to work accurately under stressful conditions and meet tight deadlines; possess the ability for self-directed learning/working, as well as collaboration and teamwork and demonstrate the ability and interest in working with a diverse team and in an environment that values diversity and equity.Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
