AVA will be paying for the veterinary care with a few minor restrictions to be discussed.

Cats with Feline Leukemia can live a very long time. I know of one that was diagnosed 8 years ago in addition to lungs that had had chemical burns. She is still thriving so this could be a long term and rewarding venture.

Two of Action Volunteers for Animals' very young cats,Onyx and Keiron, both under 2 years of age, were recently diagnosed with Feline Leukemia. Currently with our overcrowded foster home situations there is no place to isolate these cats except in cages.....and this is no place for affectionate, young, active cats. These cats simply need someone who is comfortable medicating cats and a cage free environment inorder for their state of health to become the best it can be, as quickly as possible.

If there is anyone out there who has a Fleuk cat who needs company or has had a Fleuk cat that has passed away, please don't let your expertise be wasted! .....Even if you have never had a Fleuk cat before but deem yourself good at medicating and caring for sick cats and you currently have no other pets please consider fostering one or both of them.

AVA became a registered charity in xxxx. Our funding comes from donations, membership fees, garage sales, and our annual Bazaar which is held each November. AVA receives no government funding, preferring to maintain its independence.
Action Volunteers for Animals' goals are to:
© Control stray and feral animal overpopulation particularly that of feral cat colonies. We trap, sterilize and release feral cats back into their original habitats, monitor their health and feed them on a regular basis. Cats deemed adoptable i.e. tame, are entered into our adoption program. Cats too ill to be released or adopted are cared for within our foster care system.
© Reduce animal suffering
© Discourage animal cruelty
© Educate the public, especially children, about animal welfare.
