Cashier-Customer Service East End Garden Centre Ltd. xxxx Queen Street East Toronto, Ontario M4L 1C7 Job Title: Cashier-Customer Service provider (Retail Garden Centre) Reports To: Manager Supervises: None General Purpose of Position: Cashier is responsible for processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Tasks and Responsibilities: * Ensure that each customer receives service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, product knowledge, telephone answering, announcing orders over intercom system, and all other aspects of customer service. * Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements. * Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and accurately maintain all cash and media at the registers. * Communicate customer requests * Record keeping in relation to cash procedures *Customer service, and cash handling, use of Visa, Mastercard and Debit card terminal machine *Stocking required, and organization *Answering of telephone, taking deliveries over the telephone, multitasking *Receiving of goods at the Garden Centre *Plant upkeep & plant maintenance (watering, display of plants) * Maintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stocked, housekeeping(sweeping, dusting, etc). * Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager. Skills and Competencies: * Ability to process information/merchandise through register system * Ability to communicate with associates and customers * Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation * Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job Requirements: * Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above * Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed Start date: * April May xxxx, seasonal, full time hours, day, night, evening, weekends Wage * Wage Negotiable, and reflective of abilities/skill(s).
